Norfolk County Massachusetts Homes for Sale and Real Estate Listings

Norfolk County is located in Massachusetts and was named after Norfolk, England. It was created in 1793 by legislation signed by Governor John Hancock.  Adjacent counties are Middlesex County to the northeast, Suffolk County to the north, Plymouth County to the southeast, Bristol County to the south, Providence County, Rhode Island to the southwest, and Worcester County to the west.  Dedham is the county seat.  The population was 650,308 as of the 2000 census. It has a total area of 444 square miles, with 400 square miles of land and 44 square miles of water.

Norfolk County is called “County of Presidents” because it is the birthplace of four of the Presidents of the United States (John Adams, John Quincy Adams, John F. Kennedy, and George H. W. Bush). Many of the communities in Norfolk County are residential suburbs of Boston. Technology, research and development, manufacturing, retail and wholesale are some of the businesses located in Norfolk County.
